We test the different treatment options by injecting tumor biopsies from patients into zebrafish larvae. In only five days we provide data on how efficient different treatment options are in killing the cancer cells and inhibiting metastasis, reducing the time to find the right treatment from today’s 6 months to only 5 days.


How it works
- Primary human tumors are collected in a tissue preparation kit and sent to BioReperia´s laboratory.
- Tumour samples are incubated with mild enzymes to obtain a single-cell solution and fluorescently labeled. The sample will contain all cells from the sample, including immune- and stromal cells important for recapitulation of drug response.
- Tumors are implanted into zebrafish larvae and treatment is administered.
- Visualization of tumors by fluorescence microscopy at days 0 and 3 after inoculation to assay the effect of drug treatment

Our model can be used for all cancer types and treatments and by comparing the results from our model to clinical data, we have an accuracy in treatment prediction of 80% and since the data is produced within 5 days, our model is both sensitive, fast and cost-effective.
